Volunteer Work Bees Schedule 

TBD @ Hunter Field – PICNIC TABLE REPAIRS AND CLEANING Coordinated by Gary Dale and John Blackhall 

Saturday, June 25th @ Hunter Field – GENERAL SITE CLENA UP Coordinated by Gary Dale and John Blackhall 

Grass cutting, weed whacking, fence repair, as well as any jobs to improve the site’s appearance.

Bring your equipment and experience.

Tuesday, June 28th 10:00 am @ Hunter Field – SITE PREPARATION Coordinated by Gary Dale and John Blackhall 

Set up picnic tables, set up coffee booth, water tank and barrels. Unload storage trailer. Set up rice cookers. Consult site map for placement of booths.

Lunch provided on site.

Tuesday, June 28th @Lyall Harbour – MOVING OF FLOATS Coordinated by David Rees-Thomas (250-539-5405) 

Call David if you plan to help.

Wednesday, June 29th 9:30 am @ Community Hall – PREP OF IRONS & RICE PANS

Scrub and dry the BBQ irons and the Spanish rice pans; bring rubber gloves. Light lunch provided.

Wednesday June 29th 10:00 am @ Hunter Field – SITE PREPARATION Cont’d  Coordinated by Gary Dale and John Blackhall 

Finish work from June 28th and set up tents.

Lunch provided on site.

Thursday, June 30th 9:00 am @ Community Hall – COLESLAW PREPARATION

Bring knives and food processors, cutting boards.

Continental breakfast provided.

Thursday, June 30th 9:00 am @ Recreation Centre – SPANISH RICE PREPARATION

Bring knives and food processors, cutting boards.

Light Snacks provided.

Thursday, June 30th 10:00 am @ Hunter Field – FINISH SITE PREPARATION Coordinated by Gary Dale and John Blackhall 

Booths, tents, umbrellas for picnic tables, games, beer garden, food area, coffee and everything else will be set up! Bring work gloves, hammers, &/or staple guns. Lunch provided on site.

Thursday, June 30th 3:30 pm @ Community Hall – RACK LAMBS

Rack lambs & butter buns; Potluck dinner for workers @ 6:00 pm

FRIDAY JULY 1st – THE BIG DAY – Everyone on Deck!! 

Saturday, July 2nd 10:00 am @ Hunter Field & Community Hall – CLEAN UP DAY

Everything must be dismantled and stored – grounds cleaned and left in pre BBQ condition. At the Hall: all BBQ equipment, pans and irons cleaned and put away for another year, final cleanup of hall and preparation of worker lunch. Assistance on this day is most crucial; please help with these last chores either at the field or at the hall.
